ANSWER: We try to make sure that every FloatDaddy mat leaves our facility in perfect shape. Every mat is sealed inside a plastic bag that is packages in a sturdy corrugate box. It's possible that boxes can get punctured on long shipments. We recommend that you inspect your FloatDaddy upon arrival, before the driver departs. Any damage to the packing or product must be noted on the delivery receipt with the driver before they depart.
ANSWER: Every FloatDaddy comes with a bungee with two carabiner clasps. You'll find a D-ring on both sides of the mat for attaching to docks, buoys or boats. Make sure to use the provided bungee, instead of a rope. A rope doesn't flex enough when kids are jumping on the mat, and may rip the mat around the D-ring. Avoid towing the mat behind the boat, this too may rip the D-ring from the mat.
ANSWER: To store your FloatDaddy, it is best to start rolling from the end without the D-ring, to avoid denting the foam with the hardware. As you roll the mat, keep your knee against it to keep it from unraveling. Once fully rolled, use the two provided velcro straps to wrap around both ends of the mat, for easier transport. If you choose to leave the mat in the water for multiple days, it may absorb some water, and possibly fade due to long term sun exposure, but it will still perform well.
ANSWER: Constant exposure to UV rays can cause fading to any foam. Some foam colors are more susceptible to fading to others. Reds, oranges, yellows and purples are the most likely to fade the quickest, when exposed to extended hours of sunlight. Blue is the least affected color to UV rays. That is why FloatDaddy chooses blues only in our mat designs. Our durable blue foam should hold up to the extended hours of fun that you'll be having on our mats, season after season.
ANSWER: A lot of our 2-ply competitors use a denser, coarser foam mat, to achieve buoyancy. But this foam can be very rough on skin and swimsuits. FloatDaddy chooses to use a soft touch foam instead. We achieve a far superior buoyancy by designing our mats with 3 layers of this softer foam. So climb on and have fun!
ANSWER: When rolled up, the mat 24" X 72", and is less than 50 lbs. It is easy to carry with two people, and is possible for one adult to carry on his/her shoulder. It is recommended not to carry the rolled mat by the D-ring, as it could begin to loosen with time.
ANSWER: We started our business selling both mats. But as people started trying our 3-Ply FloatDaddy mats, they could tell the difference that the third layer makes. It makes our FloatDaddy mats so much more buoyant and sturdy...and more FUN! Our 3-Ply FloatDaddy lake mats have become extremely popular after being named the #1 Floating Mat in the country by TheZ8.com, earlier this year. So, we have ceased the production of our 2-Ply Island mats, in order to keep up with our customers' demand for our Super Islands.
ANSWER: You know it!!! FloatDaddy was founded by two dads in Olathe, Kansas, who both love spending time at the lake with family and friends. During the summer, we are always on the water, boating, fishing or floating. Our favorite memories all happen on the water.
